Some types of treatment are Behavioral Treatments, Medications, and Mutual Support Groups. In Behavioral Treatments, patients will change their drinking behavior through counseling. Patients will lead by a health professional and some studies that showing they can give more benefits.

The other treatment is Medications. This treatment is currently approved in the United States to prevent relapse. Besides, medication helps people to stop drinking and reduce their drinking. Patients will get the prescribe from a physician or another health professional. It also can be used alone or in combination with counseling. There are three medications for treating alcohol addictive based on The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These medications are had been tested and the result is effective.  There are Naltrexone, which can help people reduce heavy drinking, Acamprosate that maintain

Abstinence easily, and Disulfiram that blocks the breakdown of metabolism of alcohol by the body. Unpleasant symptoms like nausea and flushing may come to the patient. They try to avoid drinking as long as they get disulfiram on them. You have to know that not all people will respond to medications. Therefore, choose yours!

Preparation Before Travelling

Preparation before Traveling: The Basic Things to Do

So, you decide to take a vacation, which means that you will be away for a while. Traveling can be fun, but it can also be disastrous if you aren’t well prepared. On the contrary to what people generally believe, traveling requires solid planning and good management. You don’t want to ruin your only chance to be away from the hustle and bustle of daily chaos and hectic schedules, do you? So, what should you do to prepare your trip as best as you can?

Make Solid Plans
It is obvious that you should be making plans about your transportation and accommodation. Decide where you want to stay; is it at hotels, at a resort, a hotel, a villa, etc? How are you going there? Can you reach it by car or do you have to fly there? Do you need one flight only, or do you have to make several stops that may include several kinds of transportation (such as an airplane, ferry, bus, car, etc)? Planning ahead won’t only help you avoid confusion, but it will also help you plan out your budgets. Make sure that you have taken care of everything concerning your accommodation and transportation before you leave.

It is best that you have made the lodging and transportation bookings several weeks before your departure. Make sure that they have everything you want, so don’t hesitate to ask for details. Check and confirm again with them about two days before you leave; just to make sure that everything has been set and will go as planned.

Manage Your Money
You can’t go anywhere without money, so make sure that you have everything set and well prepared. It would be best if you can check whether you can find ATM or money exchange counter at your destination airport. It is also a good idea to bring cash with you, although it is advisable that you put them in scattered and hidden places. Never put them all together within one place. In case you lose your wallet, for instance, you still have some money left.

Carry Important Items
Don’t forget to carry important items, such as traveling documents (in case you are traveling abroad), medicines, and other stuff you consider important. Make sure that you always carry around the most important stuff, such as wallet or passport.

My grandmother liked traveling and she had this hidden pouch (more like a belt wallet) that she carried around her belt, covered by her shirt. She kept all the important documents, money, and wallet there, so she wouldn’t worry about pickpockets.

Make Travel List
It would be perfect if you can make your own traveling list, covering all the items you bring and all the activities you plan. Making such list is really helpful and you are guaranteed to have well prepared and well-managed vacation.

Have fun!

Human Anatomy Physiology

Human Anatomy and Physiology

When we talk about the human body, in general, we also learn about some different terms and sub-matters that are categorized into their own sections. You probably have heard about human anatomy physiology, but do you know that anatomy and physiology are actually two different studies? Read along to find out their differences.

Understanding Anatomy
Anatomy is the study of human body’s morphology, which means that it is the study about the way human body parts interact to each other to function as a whole. You will learn about molecular structure, cells, and also bones to understand the overall concept.

In medical science, the basic knowledge about this particular subject should cover 3 aspects: anatomy, physiology (the study of how the human body functions), and biochemistry (the study of living structures and their chemistry). These subjects can be taught in tandem or grouped together so you will get a better understanding of the whole matter.

In anatomy, you will learn that human body and its biological systems, consisting of tissues, organs, cells, and also connective tissues. It is basically an old subject, where all the knowledge and information has been studied, researched, and categorized in a long time. Today, we have witnessed the great advance in the science where we can learn about modern human anatomy. In the past, the understanding of anatomy could only be gained through dissection of preserved and fresh cadavers. Now, we can rely on different high end and sophisticated techniques that have been developed over the years.

Anatomy is divided into two main subjects:
  • Gross anatomy. Also known as macroscopic anatomy, it focuses on how anatomical structures can be viewed without the usage of microscopes
  • Microscopic anatomy. It is the study of anatomical structured with the assistance of microscopes.

Gross anatomy itself is divided into 3 different studies:
  • Surface anatomy, focusing on external anatomy markings and forms
  • Regional anatomy, focusing on a certain region (external or internal)
  • Systemic anatomy, focusing on a certain organ

Understanding Physiology
As it was mentioned before, physiology is the study of how the human body functions biochemically, physically, and mechanically. You learn about living systems and their functions.

The human body is a complex system, where things can happen in the cellular level. In physiology, you learn what happens within the organ systems, organism, biomolecules, and cells level. You also learn about the complex process supporting development and growth, nutrients processing and absorption, protein distribution and synthesis, and also other work within organic molecules.

Homeostasis, for instance, is a part of physiology. It is the way our body maintain its overall resistance system, monitored by the nervous system and the brain while maintaining the functions from individual organs. In short, our body has its own mechanism where it can adjust itself to the surrounding environment to maintain stable and balanced condition. For instance, when you are learning about how warm blooded animals get to maintain the constant and stable temperature in the coldest environment, then you are learning about homeostasis.

How to build a beautifully designed home using shipping containers

Are you planning to buy a house? Are you such a creative person that no houses you’ve already seen is suitable for your taste? So, have you considered of having a container home? You see, with these days’ innovation level, you can even build a home out of container. Yes, the shipping containers that are used for carrying heavy things at ports. But with the help of your creativity and little know-how, you can live inside those containers and still make out the best of it. Mind-blowing home? Sold to you!

Ready, Set...

How to build a beautifully designed home using shipping containers? Easy, we will help you out. First thing first, though. Before beginning to build your dream home, sign for permits to building authority. Also, make a deal with factories or companies who sell containers, and make sure the delivery is well handled. Another thing to make sure is the size and color of the containers, because it may cost more to repaint the containers with the color you want. After that, make a deal too with contractors that will help you to put together your new container home.

Go!
So the permit is registered, the contractor has come, and the beautiful containers are here. Let’s get to work! Plan the foundation, water management, septic tank, electricity and another utilities with your contractors, based on your design for the house. Just like every other house, your container home will need a foundation to stand still and not going anywhere, so make sure it’s well handled. Not only foundation, since containers already have edges, you’ll need to secure the containers to foundation.
After the foundation is built, now it’s time to make some container modifications. Basically, you will make a house from some big rectangle boxes, so you need some modifications—whether it’s to make holes for doors and windows, or some cuts to connect a container with the other. But when you make holes on containers, they will become weak, so you need to discuss this matter with an architect or better, structural engineer. More people to hire, huh?

When the containers are already set to foundation and have some holes, time to install doors, windows, utilities and lights—to make it into a home, not container anymore! After things are already installed, you need to make sure about the heating and cooling system as well, since your home is not made of concrete wall, but steels. This is also another reason on why you’ll need a structural engineer.

Things left to do is applying interior and exterior design, do some inspections with your contractor and structural engineer to make sure everything’s on their place, and finally register your new container home for certificate of occupancy!
